Nivea Natural Fairness Cream Review

Here we will be showing you nivea natural fairness face and body cream review as explained by one of the users of the cream (Please do note that this review that not in any way reflect our view of this product)

I had noticed, since coming to Dubai, my skin was becoming uneven in tone so wanted to try a cream that didn’t have too much of a fragrance as my skin is sensitive & dry and used natural extracts, so this line caught my eye.

The Nivea Natural Fairness range has 5 products – Day cream, Night cream, Face Wash, Exfoliating Scrub & Lotion (for body & face).

I use the Day Cream, Face Wash, Exfoliating Scrub and Lotion for face & body.

The first product I am going to talk about is the Lotion for face and body (the tub) as that is the first item I tried before any of the others. I didn’t want to buy everything in one go just in case I didn’t like it or didn’t work.

It contains liquorice & berry extracts and is for all skin types. I used this for a few months and found that it improved my skin tone making it more even and slightly fairer.

Then I decided to buy the Day cream as it has a SPF of 30, Vitamin C  & Hydra IQ for more protection during the day, especially since the sun is quite strong here. Even though it claims to be really moisturizing, I felt that my skin wasn’t moisturised enough…and I have dry skin as it is….

Soooo…what I started doing was to apply the Natural Fairness Lotion for face & body on top of the Day cream therefore giving me the moisture I needed!

I then wanted something to replace my Cetaphil Cleanser so thought I’d try the face wash (contains Vitamin C & Hydra IQ technology). I wanted a cheaper alternative and wanted to stick to the Natural Fairness line so bought this. I definitely felt my skin tone was improving more after using these 3 products in combination.  After using the face wash, my skin feels tight so I definitely need to moisturise well after.

Did I feel that my skin was getting fairer?

A little bit, I wasn’t expecting it to majorly get fairer as I really just wanted to improve my uneven skin tone.

Lastly, I felt that I needed to buy a gentle scrub to help with the few breakouts that I get and to remove any dead skin – enter Nivea Exfoliating Scrub! I had seen it a few times in the shop and finally took the plunge and bought it.

It has the same ingredients as the day cream and face wash (Vitamin C and Hydra IQ technology) but also contains microbeads to help remove dead skin cells making skin more radiant & fairer. This is a really recent purchase (been using it twice a week for a little over a month), I do feel a difference, my skin feels and looks softer and has helped with maintaining the even tone of my skin. But, like with the face wash, I need to moisturise really well after using it.

The fragrance of each item is subtle and differentiates between each product but a hint of berries is present.

Would I recommend this line?

Yes, but would recommend to try a few of the products first (the lotion & day cream or day & night cream) and then branch out into the others.

Does Nivea Natural Fairness Bleach

The nivea natural fairness as the name implies is claimed to add natural fairness to your skin which most likely may not bleach your skin. But as usual, some skin reacts to a cream differently so its best for you to monitor changes in your skin once you start using the cream

Does Nivea Natural Fairness lighten the skin

Well, to answer this, lets take a quote from a user from Quora.com answering to a question of ‘If nivea natural fairness can make someon fair”

It seems from on line research that the Nivea Natural “Fairness” Body Lotion and Face Cream are intentionally marketed to women with darker skin, or as you call it “chocolate”. NIVEA Natural Fairness Body Lotion is a daily moisturizer developed to enhance the skin’s natural radiance. The skin is left silky smooth and naturally fairer, according to NIVEA.

These products contain active ingredients made from liquorice extracts, and another ingredient extracted from sunflower seeds, called octadecenedioic acid.

I was not able to retrieve much information on this acid, meaning it most probably is not in use in the US, and not approved by the FDA, (Food and Drug Administration).

Nivea itself implies that these creams and lotions will help to make the skin more “fair”, which is not a commonly used term in the US, but backs off of actually claiming that these products are skin lightening.

Instead, the Company claims that:

“NIVEA Natural Fairness Body Lotion is a daily moisturizer developed to enhance the skin’s natural radiance. The skin is left silky smooth and naturally fairer”

This is a far cry from claiming that the product will change dark skin or “chocolate” skin to fair skin. Which I presume means a lighter skin tone.

I really don’t see what’s so great about having lighter or “fairer” skin. Not with the Ozone depleting and with the Earth warming, skin cancer is a big threat!

People with lighter skin face great challenges, and must use skin protection whenever they go outside. Their skin ages much faster than darker skin, and they must constantly moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!

I would be grateful for darker skin if I were you. It has great advantages! You are most likely beautiful just the way you are!
