Samsung Galaxy M40 Review

Given the price the smartphone goes for, Samsung still packages some impressive features and standout specs on the Galaxy M40.  Let us take a deeper look at the features and specifications.

Body and Design

The Galaxy M40 comes in a polycarbonate body, although the back has a completely different gradient design where the curled sides have a somewhat lighter shade of blue, and the other flat part is deep blue. With its large 6.3-inch display, the phone still feels compact in hand. It is important to note though, that the polycarbonate material is very prone to scratches. With that main glass front, it is advisable to get a screen guard and a phone case to protect the phone.

Display

The Samsung Galaxy M40 features a 6.3-inch TFT LCD with full HD-Plus screen resolution. The screen setup allows the smartphone to attain a high screen ration of about 90 percent. The viewing angles are with extreme brightness and it also boasts amazing sunlight legibility.

Operating System and Processor

Samsung Galaxy M40 runs on Android Pie (Android 9.0) with Samsung’s unique software One UI version 1.1. The smartphone features Octa-core (2×2.0 GHz Kryo 460 Gold & 6×1.7 GHz Kryo 460 Silver) processor that is boosted by 4 GB or 6 GB of RAM, depending on the model you are going for, and a corresponding 64 GB and 128 GB (respectively) of internal memory that can be expanded up to 1 TB with a dedicated microSD card that fixes into a shared SIM slot.

Camera

One of the most outstanding features is the camera. The Samsung Galaxy M40 has a triple-camera setup on the rear, which is a better improvement compared to some other phones in the series. It features a 32 MP primary shooter with f/1.7 aperture along with an impressive 8 MP ultra-wide camera with 123-degree field-of-view and another 5 MP sensor for depth. The smartphone also features a 16 MP front camera to complete its remarkable camera setup.

Battery

Samsung Galaxy M40 features a fair 3500mAh battery, which also supports fast charging with the 15W connector that comes inbuilt. On the average, it will take 90 minutes for the phone to charge from 0 percent to a hundred percent with the fast charging adapter.

Good display: Good display? Greta this play this. Samsung remains the king of the smartphone market when it comes display and the amazing screen and display of the Galaxy M40 should not come as a surprise at all. It features outstanding 6.3 inches display with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels, which makes it perfect for gaming and videos. It is also very sharp and ensure amazing viewing experience.

Pocket Friendly: While nothing is confirmed yet, the smartphone is rumoured to go for anything between N100, 000 and N120, 000, which is highly competitive and given the phone’s spec, it is a reasonable price. Samsung phones are not cheap and for the Galaxy M40 to go for this price is a real deal and a plus to the market.

Ultra Wide Angle camera: This I one of the most talked about features of the smartphone. The camera setup is outstanding with a unique ultra-wide angle camera which ensures more angles are covered when taking a shot, compared to most other smartphones in its category.

Samsung Galaxy M40: Things May Not Like About The Smartphone

Front Camera Should Be Better: Camera quality tells a whole lot about a smartphone today. Do not be deceived by the on-paper 16 MP front camera, based on user reviews and reports, the front camera is not as spectacular as it seem. Not the best return for the Samsung series.
