How to Make Licorice Candy
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup of flour
- Licorice root powder
- Dried anise powder
- Molasses
Steps
- First, add molasses into a medium sauce pan. Heat it over medium heat for 5 to 10 minutes, as the molasses gets thoroughly warmed.
- Heat gently; do not allow it to boil or bubble.
- Add licorice root powder and dried anise powder into the molasses. Stir well.
- Add the flour into the molasses. Mix thoroughly.
- Continue adding flour, a few tablespoons at a time until it reaches a total of one cup. By then, a thick workable paste should have already formed.
- Remove the candy dough from the pan and place it on a cutting board. Shape the candies into several long tubes.
- Wait 1-2 hours for the candies to harden, and store it in a jar or container.
- Licorice candy is now ready to be eaten!
