Samsung Galaxy F02s Review

There is so much to love about the Samsung Galaxy F02s. We have shown you its specifications above, now, let’s look at some of its features in some detail.

Display and Design

If you like smartphones with spectacular designs, then the Samsung Galaxy F02s isn’t for you. This device features a pretty basic design, nothing special at all. Considering how much this device costs, this isn’t a surprise.

The rear cover of this device is made of plastic, the same as its frame. So what does Samsung present its customers in the chassis of this device? The rear of this device has a camera module that houses a triple camera setup along with an LED flash. You will also notice the conspicuous Samsung logo that adds some uniqueness to this device.

Samsung also presents buyers of the Samsung Galaxy F02s with three different colors to choose from. They are ceramic blue, ceramic black, and ceramic white. Asides from the colors, the rear panel is plain with no special patterns. While some people consider this minimalist, others feel Samsung could have put in some extra effort.

Let’s look at what is in front of this device. The display is a PLS IPS display of 6.5 inches and it also bears a drop notch. It also features a 270-PPI density and 720 x 1600 pixels in resolution. Again this is nothing special, however, for a phone in this price range, it is not unexpected.

Cameras

This is another aspect of the Samsung Galaxy F02s that we believe that the company should have put in more effort. The cameras are nothing too special compared to what Samsung offers in many of its other devices. It is obvious that Samsung sacrificed some quality to main the low price of the device.

The rear panel houses a triple camera setup including the main camera, depth camera, and macro camera. This device features a main camera with 13 megapixels. The depth and macro cameras are both 2 megapixels each. As you will expect, all these cameras will not give you so much in terms of high-quality images.

The video quality of this device peaks at 1080p at 30fps. While on paper this is great, it doesn’t exactly offer so much because of the lack of additional features to improve video quality. The camera in front comes with 5 megapixels and it is embedded within the drop notch located on the display. With this, you can shoot selfies that are just within the range of phones of this class.

Software and hardware

The price range of the Samsung Galaxy F02s leaves very little to be expected in terms of software and hardware. This device comes with low-end hardware with the main focus being the Snapdragon 450 processor. It also features the Adreno 506 GPU that controls all the gaming and graphics functions of the device.

Memory space is a very important factor to consider when choosing a smartphone. If you need a lot of space, then maybe the Samsung Galaxy F02s is not such a great option. This device comes in two memory and RAM variants. They are the 64GB/4GB variant and the 32GB/3GB variant.

If you still want to get this device and need extra memory space, there is room for a memory card. The memory of this device is expandable using a microSD card up to about 128GB. Another downside to this device is that it runs on the Android 10 OS. There is already a newer operating system with several upgrades. So if you need a smartphone with the latest operating system, this may not be a great option.
