How To Change Swift 4g LTE Password
Your Swift Mifi or CPE’s SSID is that name that people see (under available networks) when they wish to connect to your Wifi (wirelesss) network.
If you do not secure your wifi with a password then you are sharing your hotspot with everyone around (free swift wifi).
.The default password to your SWIFT 4G LTE hub Wireless / WiFi is located just under it and usually written in front of Wi-Fi Key (WPA/WPA2).
Why should I change my Swift WiFi modem password and SSID
Your swift MiFi has publicly known dashboard login credentials and WiFi key (printed on the case of the modem) so once a person has physical access to the MiFi, he/she can connect to your WiFi network. Once connected to your WiFi network, the person can gain access to your CPE home and carry out malicious activities. For these reasons, you’re better off changing your credentials.
Steps to to change SWIFT 4G wireless password and SSID
To change from this default password to a preferred one:
- Connect to the SWIFT Wi-Fi
- Once connected, launch your browser
- Open http://homerouter.cpe/, 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.8.1
- Login using your credentials. If you’ve never changed them then its
Default username: user
Default password: userIf the above credentials don’t work then try
Default username: admin
Default password: admin - When logged in, go to Settings > Wi-Fi > Wi-Fi Basic Settings
- Under Wi-Fi Basic Settings, you can change your SSID, Hide SSID broadcast , Wi-Fi password and other settings
- Click Submit when you’re done
- To easily reset the password to the default, simply press the reset button on the Swift HUB device
- The Reset button is not present on the Mi-fi devices
- You could install the free Swift wifi app (by Huawei) for easy management of connected users
Important Notice
If you’d changed the default password and forgotten it then you’ll need to reset the modem and retry the default credentials
